On Saturday I participated in a one-man act of civil disobedience that is not yet reported in any paper to my knowledge. To co-incide with the Put People First march through London I climbed over the railings and into the grounds of the Houses of Parliament/Palace of Westminster.
The Put People First march is now making its way into Hyde Park. The first half of the march showed up about an hour ago, the second half was delayed due to the police joining the march and keeping a slow-moving cordon of cops in front of the anarchist Militant Workers Bloc, presumably to deny them mobility in case they decided to overthrow capitalism today.
A march for jobs , in the tradition of the Jarrow Marchers, has been called to the G20 on 2 April. This march will visit all 4 of the poorest boroughs in London, assembling at Camberwell Green at 9am, marching past parliament and the Bank of England, through Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham finishing at the G20 meeting at around 4pm.
The march route image below is the plan, and organisers have been negotiating with police over the route and times - so check the website beforehand to verify details.

... “We Won’t Pay For Their Crisis!”
On Thursday 2nd of April the G20 (or G22) are descending on the city in a Summit to address the current global Crisis, and to discuss how to “re-stabilise” the world economy and how to re-write the rules of global Capitalism, whilst thousands of people are losing their jobs and homes on a daily basis.
Amid the biggest police operation to be launched in London for over a decade, many UK wide groups and organisations have joined forces for several days of protests and events starting on Saturday 28th until Thursday 2nd, to show a clear rejection to the G20’s ‘solutions’, as well as to propose ways out to the current economic and social situation that go beyond the ‘logic’ of Capitalism.

AGAINST SUMMITS AND COUNTER-SUMMITS
greek goverment and the police, are afraid that this "small" revolution can lead to a real revolution. That is the reason, the greek police asked for help from the Scotland Yard,to take the situation under control. Also the european union is afraid that this"virus of revolution"that started here in Greece, can "infect"other european countries.
DEFIANT City cleaners stepped up their protest against victimisation yesterday with another noisy demonstration outside the plush offices of a multi-national insurance firm. The protest is the latest in a series of demonstrations against the treatment by the cleaning contractor and was joined by workers who clean other financial towers in the Square Mile.
The four union activists were recently sacked from their jobs by cleaning privateer Mitie after organising a union and winning the London Living Wage at the Willis building in the heart of London's financial district as part of Unite the union's Justice for Cleaners campaign.
This Friday 20 March at 13.00 hours, cleaners sacked by contractor Mitie at global insurance brokers the Willis Group will be demonstrating again outside the Willis Building, 51 Lime Street London EC3 7DQ (tube: Liverpool Street or Bank). Their fight back against union busting redundancies is an inspiration to all in these times of recession brought on by the City itself. Come and show your support!
Venue: The Ship Pub (Top Floor), Holborn, London WC2A 3HP
On 1st April at 11 a.m. parades will join up at four railway stations around the edge of the square mile - Liverpool St, London Bridge,Cannon St and Moorgate - and snake their way though the City to converge at the Bank of England for 12 noon.
Each procession will be headed by one of the Four Horsefolk of the Apocalypse, commanding their forces against:
1) Climate chaos (Green horse, Liverpool St),
2) War (Red horse, Moorgate),
3) Job/savings/pensions losses (Silver horse, London Bridge)
4) Home repossessions (Black horse, Cannon Street).

Sacked cleaners and their supporters held their third and largest protest on Thursday, outside insurance brokers Willis in the heart of the City of London. Willis's cleaning contractors Mitie had brought in redundancies and overnight working over Christmas, just when the cleaners had achieved the 'living wage'. A new video tells the story - see link below....
Sacked cleaners and their supporters gathered for the second time outside the Willis Building in the heart of the City of London, where they used to work until forced out by cleaning contractors Mitie, apparently determined to use the recession to break union organisation. 'We'll back and that's a fact" they chanted at the end, and they will be - this Thursday 26th of February at 1pm.
