G20: Agent Provocateurs = Entrapment

-thumb

Did the Met Police use Agent Provocateurs/ Police Agitators during the G20 Meltdown festival? While this may seem far-fetched to the casual observer, it is a commonly-used technique for "protest management" by riot police across the world. It provides the justification for heavy-handed retaliation by the police and media over-reaction. More importantly, those now charged with breaking and entering the RBS bank on 1st April are the innocent dupes of a morally corrupt police operation; a case of entrapment.

As Parliament was sitting again after having been absent from Westminster for Easter holidays, Tamil people and their supporters in London stepped up their protests on Monday 20th against the military onslaught in the Tamil areas of northern Sri Lanka. Thousands of people blocked Parliament Square for the whole day, whilst large numbers of police and riot TSG forces in standby-by kept a close eye.

By 20:30 in the evening thousands of people were still blocking the road outside Parliament. See updates and photos [1 | 2] Further potests are taking place on Wednesday 22nd. See photos and report.

Reflections on the police raids of Rampart and the Convergence Centre during the G20 and the criminalisation of dissent.

On the Thursday following the G20 protests, two squatted social centres in East London were raided by riot police, apparently looking for instigators of the attacks on the Royal Bank of Scotland. Click at the ´More´ link above for the full text.
