The anti-authoritarian spirit of MayDay was marked this year in London with a "Guilty, A Celebration of the  Police State" street party called by the Space Hijackers. Around 300 people gathered outside the Bank of England from 5pm and partied into the evening.

Three mobile sound systems were brought into the square right in the middle of The City, as a well as a traditional MayDay pole and several props, whilst many people were wearing fancy dresses with the theme of police repression. In contrast with the recent G20 events, police kept a low profile throughout the evening.

May Day fun in central London as police refused to play the part scripted for them by the Space hijackers and so took a hands-off low-key approach to policing what turned out to be a wonderful antidote to the bullshit push and shove of the G20.

The island in the Thames near Surbiton has been evicted today by 100 police in 27 inflatable rafts and a helicopter. The island had been used as a community space, providing workshops and classes to the local community since February and was planning to set up an Eco Centre in the coming years. See photos

More than a hundred people gathered for the St George’s Day celebration at the Cross Bones Graveyard shrine in Redcross Way SE1.  

As a part of the global week of action to reclaim education students at the University of Copenhagen have occupied and blocated the central administration building of the university, thereby hindering all central administrations personel including the principality in working.
