Tagged as: cuts occupylsx repression social_strugglesDefying icy winds, a crowd of occupiers and guests assembled in front of St Paul’s on Saturday 4 January to take part in a Speak-out on homelessness.
The event, in Poverty and Homelessness Action Week, was the first chance to specifically focus on the experience and views of rough sleepers and other homeless people who have from the beginning of Occupy London been occupiers at St Paul’s and Finsbury Square, taking part in actions, discussions and assemblies and keeping the camps alive by working in the kitchens, stores, recycling and shelter. There are said to be 56 homeless occupiers on St Paul’s site and more at Finsbury Square.
