As the nights draw in and the layers pile on, things at UKYCC are turning positively tropical in preparation for the UN climate talks in Mexico this November & December…

We will be throwing our doors wide open and letting the (December) sun in for 2 whole weeks from 29th Nov – 10th Dec, as we create a hub for action, education and the media.

It’s called the UKYCC Hot Spot…

…and you’re all invited to bring your friends and your sun cream (wishful thinking?) to learn, inspire and take meaningful action to show the UN that we’re not going to just sit back and watch as they make the most important decisions of our time.

What is a Hot Spot?!

* A place for learning the basics about climate change, the UN climate talks and the issues on the table this year.
* A training space for young people to build important media and campaigning skills.
* A media and outreach hub to digest information that is feeding back from our delegation in Cancun and share this with young people and our networks in the UK.
* Plenty of opportunities to get active during the 2 weeks. This might resemble something along the lines of 2009s 12/12 Day of Action or the Power Shift Flashdance, or might be more like 350′s localised community actions.

The basics:

When? Monday 29th November – Friday 10th December
Where? The Diana Award Office, 20 Buckingham Street, London
What? Workshops, activities, talks, fun, campaigns, training
Why? Because we need to make our voices heard....
