how to fight the cuts

Our meeting comes on the day George Osborne, the Tory Chancellor launches his long anticipated attacks on the living standards of the vast majority of people in Britain from which only the millionaires will be exempt.

Many people will feel angered by the cuts but may not know how they can organise against them. The meeting will discuss what can be done to defeat not only Osborne's cuts, but those of the local Mayor, Steve Bullock, who plans to axe £60 million from the local authority budget in the next three years, cutting a swathe through the jobs and services upon which people in Lewisham depend.

Lewisham Anti-Cuts Alliance is a coming-together of local trade unionists and community activists who oppose local and national spending cuts. Representatives from campaigns in Lewisham and South London will be speaking at the meeting.
