Friday 17th December 8PM LARC (London Action Resource Centre) 62 Fieldgate Street Whitechapel E1 1ES.
The 17th marks the beginning of the ancient Roman festival of the Saturnalia in which the gods and their order were overthrown and a world turned upside down allowed the poor and oppressed a brief experience of a life of freedom and joy.
WE SAY THE WORLD *IS* TURNING AND HAVING TASTED THE SWEET WINE OF LIBERTY WE WILL NOT SURRENDER THE CUP BACK TO THE MIGHTY.
Come, drink and make merry, plot and rage, dance and sing. Expect: cheesy christmas songs, wassailing, mulled wine and a warm glow of comradeship. Bring: Any easy to make tasty eats to share with your comrades; greenery to help decorate the place and most importantly yourselves and the love and solidarity to carry us all through the next year ahead. Dress up if you like and a prize to anyone who brings Saturns head! This time we want to make sure he is dead!
