<p>Here's some important info for you LARC-watchers and users. Bear in mind also that</p>
<p>it's our AGM from 7-7.30 on Sunday December 20th, followed crisply on by</p>
<p>our 11th annual winter solstice party, to which you're all very warmly</p>
<p>welcome, as it will be full of live music and, for the first winter ever,</p>
<p>a cosy wood-burning stove in the main space, plumbed in to radiators</p>
<p>throughout the building.</p>

<p>But first...</p>
<p> </p>
<p>HELPING LARC KEEP ON KEEPING ON:</p>
<p>EMERGENCY MEETING SET FOR WEDNESDAY DEC 2ND, 7-9pm</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For 10 years, the London Action Resource Centre (aka LARC;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.londonarc.org">www.londonarc.org</a>) has been a building where groups and individuals</p>
<p>favouring positive social and ecological change have been able to meet,</p>
<p>make banners, stuff the latest agitprop in a pocket, watch films, grow</p>
<p>food, listen to fine politicised acoustic tunes, to read and to drink tea.</p>
<p>We bought the place, converted it and now run it according the heartfelt</p>
<p>principles of leaderless, consensual decision-making and a belief that</p>
<p>the only lasting solutions to the current (and time-old) capitalistic</p>
<p>madness are the ones that come from the bottom up.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Beautiful, inspired squatted spaces have come and gone, but LARC has the</p>
<p>potential to provide long-term support for London's direct action</p>
<p>movements, and to help provide a public space for them. So far, although</p>
<p>much could be improved, it's gone pretty well. In 2009 though, we have</p>
<p>lost a few key people from the small group that keeps the bills paid and</p>
<p>the tea bags in abundance, and we're putting out the call for those groups</p>
<p>and individuals who have used or currently use the space to see if they're</p>
<p>able to put a little more time in at the engine room of the project, in</p>
<p>order for it to carry on doing what it does best, and maybe even help to</p>
<p>do it better. It's also time to see if there are new users out there who</p>
<p>might be able to spare some time.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>So one step towards reestablishing a strong group at LARC's core is</p>
<p>December's monthly meeting, which will run from 7-9pm, after which we'll</p>
<p>eat some food or head to the pub. It's open to anyone, and attending is</p>
<p>not a commitment to taking anything on(!)</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For your interest, here are some of the jobs we're looking for help with:</p>
<p>- website</p>
<p>- basement</p>
<p>- checking LARC emails</p>
<p>- general DIY around the building</p>
<p>- making publicity materials</p>
<p>- fundraising</p>
<p> </p>
