The Skandalous! crew have joined forces with Fluorotrash and special guests
Naked to bring Electric Circus to Scala on Friday 9 October, a full-on night
of beautiful chaos to "tickle" the senses. There’s a also a serious purpose
behind the serious fun and laughs the event is raising money to take vital
supplies to the people of Gaza, as well as circus to entertain children and
young people affected by conflict.
Transforming Scala into a miniature indoor festival of lurve, Electric
Circus features ZION TRAIN, Subsource, Slackers Convention and very special
guest ONE TASTE COLLECTIVE combined with circus acts, pole dancers, live
bands, VJs and DJs. Plus there will be the usual Skandalous! shennanigins of
beats, breaks and bass, as well as badgers, psychedelic circus and random
acts of beauty, together with seriously top notch bands, foot stompingly
good DJs, and maybe even a spot of banana pole dancing. Meanwhile, Naked
will be celebrating their second birthday with a ?damn sexy party featuring
Benzavencrane
The Electric Circus manifesto is for maximum fun and laughs whilst raising
money for medicines and other vital supplies needed by the people of Gaza.
After the last event at Inspiral Lounge in Camden, money was used to buy
medicines which were delivered to a clinic in the hills above Gaza City via
a Hope Convoy. The clinic was desperately in need as they have been unable
to receive important supplies in any other way. The next convoy leaves the
UK at the end of November, and organisers hope to raise enough money for
further medicine, as well as circus to bring much needed light and laughter
to children living in areas of conflict. To make this a reality, organisers
are working with the legendary Boomchuka! Circus2Iraq crew.
QUOTE from one of the founders: Electric Circus is bought to you by women
who really like their freedom. We reckon women, like everyone else in Gaza,
should be able to enjoy their freedom too. We don’t give our money to a
third party to do with as they will we deliver directly to the people ...
it's the only way. The next convoy leaves at the end of November and we
intend to be on it and you and your bestest, maddest, sexiest, most
outlandish costume can make a difference!
