Let's be honest here. We islanders rarely know what the heck is gonna be on the show until it actually airs. This is because we are committed to getting the absolute latest word on the street.
Having said that, we've managed to confirm a couple guests for this 52nd edition of Dissident Island Radio:
- Spoken wordist, Pete the Temp, will be in the studio live sharing some of his latest pieces with us;
- Fighting for our rights: Two folks on their battles to grip onto those oh-so elusive civil liberties - David Mery on the DNA database and Pennie Q on the 'stop & search' laws;
- SAEAB (Stop Animal Experiments in Bradford) with more on their campaign;
- Stop the Traffic and their call-to-action on 22 February 2010;
- Tunes, bollocks, shout outs, the introduction of a new islander, maybe a vegan recipe and probably a roaring fire and lots of cans crackin'...
And to end...a DJ set from the excellent Sasquatch and friends, playing out the show with more exclusive dubstep, grime from Senseless Records. You won't want to miss it...
To tune in, check out www.dissidentisland.org or the top right-hand corner of London Indymedia for links to the live stream. Or just -- click here -- anytime between 9pm and midnight.
So that's Friday, 5 February 2010. 9pm. Got it?
In the meantime, keep your radical ears happy with a browse through the island archive.
And keep it sweet.
