an evening of film, discussion and making things!

A person is faced with 1004 adverts on average everyday telling them that they are not good enough, that they need to consume in order to be happy. Subvertising alters the message of advertising to make a statement against mass consumerism, war, etc. It is a way of reclaiming public space and voicing an alternative message to passers by.
Come along to watch footage of subvertising in action, make your own stencils and the such like... Bring tools, paint, enthusiasm and ideas if you can!

this event will be taking place at Non Commercial House (165 Commercial Street) a recently opened space with free shop, bicycle repair and various other free things... It is open most days from midday until early evening so pop by, drop off stuff you no longer require, take things that you need, hold a discussion/workshop/skillshare, paint something....
