 stem For Immigration: </strong><br />The new regulations will require ac
 ademic staff to monitor<br />the attendance of overseas students\, repor
 ting them to UKBA if they miss too many classes and assignments\; this h
 as obvious implications for human rights and academic freedom. The new r
 egulations have also made it more difficult both for overseas students t
 o obtain visas and also for overseas researchers to visit the UK.</p>\n<
