DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>What?:</strong><br />The recent media attention on
the police actions during the G20 protests has launched a mainstream de
bate whether police tactics and actions around protest are out of contro
l.<br /><br />However\, for many\, police violence during those protests
didn&rsquo\;t come as a surprise - it is merely business as usual. Mem
bers of ethnic minorities and\, more generally\, the poorest sectors of
society\, as well as long-term political activists can give testimony of
systematic police abuses that are normally never reported.<br /><br />T
his Activist Forum will hear from members of FitWatch\, United Families
and Friends Campaign and the United Campaign Against Police Violence\, a
nd invite all participants to share their experiences of police violence
and unaccountability: from the repression and harassment of legitimate
protesters to a seemingly unquestioned licence to kill\, as in the cases
of Ian Tomlinson\, Jean Charles de Menezes\, and many others.<br /><br
/>Join us for discussion and to find concrete ways to counteract police
  repression of our rights and freedoms.<br /><br />Links:<br /><a href="
