Finmeccanica UK, 8-10 Great George Street, SW1P 3AE
Drones to Pakistan
Attack helicopters to Turkey
Military helicopters to Algeria
Armoured vehicles to Oman
These are just some of the deadly items the arms company Finmeccanica have sold. As part of CAAT's month of action against the arms trade (http://www.caat.org.uk/resources/mapping/expose-the-arms-trade.php), London CAAT will be outside their UK office on Saturday 8 September, 12-2pm, to let them know This is NOT OK.
Finmeccanica has sold attack helicopters to Turkey for use against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), military helicopters to Algeria for "battlefield and internal security requirements", a border control and security system to Libya, drones to Pakistan, armoured vehicles to Oman. Others we will visit have sold weapons which were used to aid repression in Bahrain, and regularly supply one of the most repressive regimes in the world, Saudi Arabia.
They also sponsor the National Gallery, an association that does the gallery no credit and gives the arms trade a veneer of legitimacy.
