We've got some good news - the National Gallery has announced it will not to host any events for their arms company sponsor Finmeccanica during the 2012 Farnborough Air Show!
On the night the reception would have taken place, we're picnicking outside the gallery to celebrate, and to keep the pressure up on the National Gallery to end its association with the arms trade.
Wear your finest party wear, bring yourself and some food for a creative and delicious celebration!
Last year the National Gallery hosted an evening reception to celebrate the first day of business at DSEi, the world's largest arms fair. Arms company Finmeccanica gives the National Gallery £30,000 a year, and in return they get the use of the Gallery for receptions and black-tie dinners for arms dealers.
Our much-loved public institutions should not be providing support for such a deadly business. For more information, see the Campaign Against Arms Trade website.
