DESCRIPTION:
&nbsp\;
\n
Hello\,
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
Here's som
e important info for you LARC-watchers and users. Bear in mind also that

\n
it's our AGM from 7-7.30 on Sunday December 20th\, followed cri
sply on by
\n
our 11th annual winter solstice party\, to which you'
re all very warmly
\n
welcome\, as it will be full of live music an
d\, for the first winter ever\,
\n
a cosy wood-burning stove in the
 main space\, plumbed in to radiators
\n
throughout the building.</
p>\n
&nbsp\;
\n
But first...
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
HELPING LARC
 KEEP ON KEEPING ON:
\n
EMERGENCY MEETING SET FOR WEDNESDAY DEC 2ND
\, 7-9pm
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
For 10 years\, the London Action Resour
ce Centre (aka LARC\;
\n
www.lon
donarc.org) has been a building where groups and individuals
\n
favouring positive social and ecological change have been able to meet\
,
\n
make banners\, stuff the latest agitprop in a pocket\, watch f
ilms\, grow
\n
food\, listen to fine politicised acoustic tunes\, t
o read and to drink tea.
\n
We bought the place\, converted it&nbsp
\; and now run it according the heartfelt
\n
principles of leaderle
ss\, consensual decision-making&nbsp\; and a belief that
\n
the onl
y lasting solutions to the current (and time-old) capitalistic
\n
m
adness are the ones that come from the bottom up.
\n
&nbsp\;
\n<
p>Beautiful\, inspired squatted spaces have come and gone\, but LARC has
 the
\n
potential to provide long-term support for London's direct
action
\n
movements\, and to help provide a public space for them.
So far\, although
\n
much could be improved\, it's gone pretty well
. In 2009 though\, we have
\n
lost a few key people from the small
group that keeps the bills paid and
\n
the tea bags in abundance\,
and we're putting out the call for those groups
\n
and individuals
who have used or currently use the space to see if they're
\n
able
to put a little more time in at the engine room of the project\, in
\
n
order for it to carry on doing what it does best\, and maybe even he
lp to
\n
do it better. It's also time to see if there are new users
 out there who
\n
might be able to spare some time.
\n
&nbsp\;

\n
So one step towards reestablishing a strong group at LARC's cor
e is
\n
December's monthly meeting\, which will run from 7-9pm\, af
ter which we'll
\n
eat some food or head to the pub. It's open to a
nyone\, and attending is
\n
not a commitment to taking anything on(
!)
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
For your interest\, here are some of the jobs
 we're looking for help with:
\n
- website
\n
- basement
\n

- checking LARC emails
\n
- general DIY around the building
\
n
- making publicity materials
\n
- fundraising
\n
&nbsp\;</
p>\n
If you can't get to the meeting\, but might be up for helping wit
h one of
\n
these roles\, email info@londonarc.org
\n
&nbsp\;
\n
Thanks and take care\,</
