DIY Radio - feck yea

Raise a glass, celebrate and tune into episode 87 and the 4th birthday show of Dissident Island! As well as a farewell set (*sniff*!) from the much loved and always excellent Dissident Island DJ deadly buzz, the show will feature political musings, special tunes and other audio delights, including an extra special radio play sequel and an interview with National Union of Journalists president Donnacha DeLong.

It's been a busy four years for the dissidents - just check out what they were planning this Spring and have a look at their feature heavy imc london group page. With nearly 87 episodes under their belts, and a whole host of benefit parties and gigs, DIY skillshares and bookfairs, live riot radio and travels to distant lands, the Dissidents are always on the move.

One of the latest projects is Catalyst Radio - which brings together a bunch of political radio collectives in the UK, co-ordinating a 24-hour streaming radical political internet radio station and UK-wide network.

Did you know that if you tried listening to Dissident Island's entire show archive, back to back, you'd be awake and listening to over a week's worth of political musings, recipes, prisoner support information, discussions, panels, riots, direct action reports, DIY guides, original/exclusively produced music and other bangin' tunes, banter, technical fuck-ups, live DJ and acoustic music sets and more? Pretty awesome.

So here's to four years radical radio - and we hope to hear another four...and more!
