7 arrests around the convergence centre. one of them for carrying a screw driver. Police are stopping and searching people getting in the convergence centre.
I approached Tower Bridge from the South. Once a vehicle - for example a bicycle - has crossed the river, it has the option to get in line; two lanes to go left, one to go straight.
I place myself within the line on the right, since I was going straight. A lorry driver behind me shouted at me in anger "get out of the way!!" indicating the left hand side lanes. I answered, "I can't, I'm going straight, not left".
Before the lights turned green, the lorry accelerated violently towards me. I got out of its way just in time not to get killed. Luckily the cars on the left had not been as quick accelerating. But even if the lorry had killed me, I doubt the lorry driver would have ever been arrested, or indeed charged.
When I arrived to the convergence centre in the city, I was told seven people had been arrested in the past 24 hours, mostly for carrying tools, like a screwdriver, one of them. A whole van load of tools necessary to do up the place had also been confiscated.
Within 10 minutes of my arrival in the squat, seven policemen had turned up and stopped and searched three people. They were determined to find excuses to arrest people - just a means to get them out of the streets.
Just in case this useful information for any one to take action - the convergence centre is seriously short of vegan food. People have gone skipping in the city, but it is clear the City does not cater for animal-respectful eaters. So there seems to be a need for people to bring fruit and vegetables.
