And the projections reminded us that the whole event was based in the political struggles we are involved in.

The fifth Reclaim The Future party was held on Saturday, 5th September 2009 in a squatted former car showroom on Mile End Road in East London, right near where the Anarchist Bookfair is held. As with previous such events, workshops were held during the afternoon, with some being linked to events later on in the evening: Dissident Island providing a radiostream of some of the bands, and Bicycology running the cinema. And, in contrast with previous events, there was almost no sign of the police all night (remember when they used a sainsbury's truck to block Holloway Road at RTF 4 while they attempted to raid the place?) - see if you can spot them in the pics.

Overall, an excellent night, with loads of great music, entertaining caberet, and a great selection of films documenting the history of the anarchist movement in this country amongst many other things. The photos provide a glimpse at a small selection of what was happening.
