Environmental activists from all over the country will be arriving at Sipson, the village set for demolition if the Heathrow expansion goes ahead, on 5 September to join local anti-expansion campaigners for a festival of community resistance.

Held on the ‘Airplot' land which is jointly owned by Greenpeace, Alistair Mcgowen, Emma Thompson, Zac Goldsmith and tens of thousands of concerned citizens, the activists will join local residents and West Londoners to demonstrate their opposition to a third runway at Heathrow. John McDonnell, MP for Hayes and Harlington, Stop Stansted Expansion, Rossport Resistence and activists from Ffos-y-Flan will celebrate their campaigns with a village fete. The evening will see a performance inspired by the groups' histories, compared by an ‘Airplot' celebrity (to be confirmed), and a fundraiser gig at Heathrow School with very special guests.

The fete is the first stop in a month-long roadshow across the South West staged by climate change pressure group Climate Rush. 20 climate suffragettes will be travelling in full costume on horse and cart through a variety of towns and cities to raise awareness of positive solutions to climate change. The group will also be holding a kids activity day on 4 September where costumes and sketches for the village fete performance will be created.
