Help report what's happening by sending your reports from the streets/fields - your reports will be used to update the Indymedia websites covering the camp.

There are three Indymedia reporting numbers (starting Wed 26th August):

07556 251 105
: For calling in reports from events - remember the 'who what when where why'

08444 872 207 : For calling in to leave a short audio recording that can be uploaded to the Indymedia websites.

07529 573 199 : For sending txt msg updates and MMS picture messages.

If you do send pictures or audio messages, do not forget to include the location and time.
Think beforehand about the report you are going to call in or send, and try to be as accurate as possible.

You can access a slimmed down mobile version of Indymedia London at http://mob.london.indymedia.org from Wed 26th - to publish just select the Publish option.

If you are using twitter to report about the climate camp please use the following tag in your message #climatecamp

If you are publishing media to other websites, again please add the tags "climatecamp" "2009" to make finding the material easier.


At the Camp:

The Camp for Climate Action has a set of guidelines relating to media and diy media - for info on DIY media check the camp handbook which will be available onsite, for mainstream media access policy see http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/press/media-access-policy

IMC Northern England will be providing facilities for campers to upload news from the site. Find them in the Yorkshire Neighbourhood marquee to find out more.

- Navigating Mainstream Media

Other sessions may be scheduled - check out the info boards at camp for more, and ways to get involved in producing diy media whislt at camp.


NB: The Indymedia reporting numbers are for informing Indymedia about what is happening around the Climate Camp to enable an accurate picture of the events to be reported on the Indymedia websites, they are not an information line to give out information.

The reporting numbers are public and may be monitored by the police.

If you are using Twitter, a record of your message will be published on your Twitter page.

If you are taking pictures or video, respect other people's desire not to be filmed. Pictures and video can often help people prove their innocence when arrested, however they can also incriminate people, so think about what you shoot and be aware the police sometimes try to confiscate recording equipment, media and film.
