Dateline: Bank of England, London, UK, 12:30, Thu 04 Jun 09 – Marking the 20th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of our brother and sister students and workers by the Chinese State’s “People's Liberation Army” (ironic killing joke unintended) in and around Tiananmen Square on 04 June 1989, the CIRCUS of TIANANMEN links the ongoing exploitation of Wage Slaves by the Banksters of England and China with the wholesale industrial-scale slaughter of those who would challenge the exploiters' power over us.

On a sunny Thursday lunchtime, slap bang in front of The Old Lady of Threadneedle Street (aka the Bank of England), young turk art student Scott Caruth directed Agents of the Government of the Dead and others in CIRCUS of TIANANMEN, a street performance art action.

It was 20 years ago to the day when the murderous self-serving b*astards at the top of China’s state capitalist dung pile ordered the cold blooded slaying of thousands of our brother and sister students and workers by the hideously-misnamed “People's Liberation Army”, in and around Tiananmen Square, on 04 June 1989. Scott wasn’t even born then, but chose to contact the Government of the Dead with his idea of how that dreadful event could be commemorated, and chose also to travel 12 hours on a coach from Glasgow to London to realise his ambition. We chose to welcome him in to the Revolution with open arms and to make his idea a reality on the streets, not only because our martyred Chinese democracy activists deserve to be honoured and remembered, but also to illustrate what one teenager can achieve when his seed of a good idea falls on fertile revolutionary ground.

The Revolution of which Prof Chris Knight speaks in his post-action interview is the unstoppable, world-wide movement of humanity in revolt against the decadent and decomposing corpse of Capital – Chinese, English, American, global. It’s the initiative, agency and achievement of a billion Scotts, their (which is to say our) imaginative collaborations summed over space and time, culminating in a borderless, moneyless, classless and ecologically harmonious global human community. Be aware, be inspired, come and join in – because “the rulers are always aware that they’re a tiny minority, and We Are Everywhere.” (1)
