Ends in confirmation that BNY Mellon have sold all their LSR shares
Barclays also drop HLS, see - https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2009/05/430193.html
Barclays Bank, 240 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1BJ
We started our day off with a nice visit to a busy Barclays branch that hasn't had much attention lately. We went to make are presence know so they realise that it is no longer acceptable to do dirty share dealing with such low level scum as HLS. We handed out a lot of leaflets, while the manager looked on.
Barclays Bank, Bevington House, 24/26 Minories, London EC3N 1BQ
Next up was another branch of Barclays again, we hadn't been to this branch for a while too and didn't want them to feel left out. We reminded them they are still the largest institutional share holder in Huntingdon Life Science with around 400,000 shares in horrific animal abuse. We had a very good response from the local builders and passers-by once they found out about Barclays' unethical investments.
Axa Insurance One Aldgate London EC3N 1RE
We then went to Aldgate, outside Axa Insurance, who are part of Axa Investment Managers to inform the staff and passers-by about Axa's involvement in investing in cruel animal experiments at HLS. One security man came out to tell us that Axa no longer own shares in HLS, we put him right and told him about Axa's U-turn and that they hold 10,000 shares in HLS, he said he 'would get back to us'...
Barclays Bank, Atlas House, 1-7 King Street, London EC2V 8AU
With the good responses we had from the other Barclays demos yesterday and earlier today, we decided to move on to yet another Barclays on King Street. This branch has seen us many times before, but we moved on after half an hour as they weren't many people about, but not before to had given out many leaflets and told all the passers-by about Barclays' ethical track record and reminded Barclays that we would be back until they sell all their shares in HLS.
Axa Investment Managers, 7 Newgate Street, London EC1A 7NX
We then moved on to Axa Investments near the Old Bailey and had a nice and loud demo outside their offices as they recently bought 10,000 shares in HLS after saying they had stopped dealings with HLS and got an 'ethical policy'. This new policy has been shown up for what it is and not worth the paper its written on. We are going to be on Axa's back a lot more now as they have lied to us and their investors about selling there shares as they clearly can't be trusted to tell the truth.
Bank of New York Mellon
After hearing from the police that BNY Mellon had sold all their shares last week, we went to double check as the shares were still listed on various financial websites. We went in to talk with someone from BNY Mellon, we asked the receptionist about clarification and someone was going to come out and confirm the sale of the LSR shareholdings. After a few minutes, an employee from BNY Mellon came out and confirmed that they had indeed sold all their shares in LSR (HLS), this is the third shareholder to sell recently.
