tamils today in parliament square

police mounted a huge operation in parliament square this morning to stop any repeat of the tamil road occupation on this budget day.

police have installed barrier cages along the front of parliament square and huge numbers are on standby.

this looks like overkill given the many tamil younsgters that have turned up in their school uniforms.

in respect for the grass, the tamils spent the night and earlier parts of the morning on pavement areas, but as their numbers have built up they are now moving into the square too. as reported earlier the GLA have under pressure removed their large fences which were supposedly put there while seeding operations took place.
