People took to the streets to express their compassion with the family of Ian Tomlinson who tragically died during the 1st April protests at the Bank of England. They were calling for an independent public inquiry into the instances of police violence that occurred though out the week and to establish to true circumstances of his death. Freedom to Protest

About 100+ people showed up at Bank at noon to express their comapssion with the family of Ian Tomlinson and their outrage of the general policing of the G20 protest. The turn out was ok for London, but still makes me wonder what happened to the thousands of people who were kettled for hours last week. Maybe they're just tired, hopefully the treatement they received for practising their democratic rights hasn't put them off protests in the future.

There was also an announcement that the Police Policy of Containment is to be challenged at European Human Rights Courts.

Knackered

Speaking as someone who marched on Saturday and was out on Wednesday supporting a video camera holding colleague (not for the mainstream media, btw), I was far too knackered to get out today. Solidarity to those that did, though.
