January 23, 2010 17:00 - The demo has now finished and people are heading back to a local squat in Dean Street. Spirits are high and a general sense of success is in everyone's minds. The demo has successfully managed to be in control of the roads occupying them all the way from St. Pancrass to Picadilly, with no police presence at all.
January 23, 2010 16:30 - Still in Picadilly at Eros. Speeches are taking place.
January 23, 2010 16:10 - In Picadilly at Eros, someone has climbed the Eros statue and tied a palestinian flag to the top.
January 23, 2010 16:00 - At Eros Fountain, lots of curious onlookers. The sound system is blasting political hip-hop.
January 23, 2010 15:55 - on intersection of coventry street and great windmill. All traffic heading East is stopped
January 23, 2010 15:45 - now on Shaftsbury Avenue, heading south. Demo still occupying the road.
January 23, 2010 15:40 - turning right on to high holborn 'no borders no nation!' being chanted. still occupying road.
January 23, 2010 15:35 - Demo with Samba and sound-system on Bloomsbury st. taking up whole road.
January 23, 2010 15:30 - The demo is now passing the British Museum, chanting and Samba Band is up and drumming!
January 23, 2010 15:25 - Demo on Bedford Place, still occupying road, cars getting pissed-off. A stand off with a nasty taxi driver has taken place. The taxi had to be forcefully stopped by protestors from driving into the demo.
January 23, 2010 15:20 - The 150 strong demo passing Bernard st. heading south. Chants of 'No Borders No Nations!', the dead kennedys blaring on the sound system
January 23, 2010 15:15 - Demo with sound-system turning left on woburn place. Still occupying road and stopping/slowing traffic
January 23, 2010 15:10 - The demo with sound-sytem turning into Tavistock Place, all cool
January 23, 2010 15:00 - Around 150 people with sound sytem heading west along Euston Road low police presence. turning into Judd st. lots of banners, everyone in good spirits. Many people are covering their faces with bandanas that have been made specially for the demo. They read 'cctv operating at all times - life's too short to be controlled' and 'Smile you are on cctv - london no borders'.
