#n30: audio from south london pickets + main march

November 30, 2011 saw public sector workers strike across the country in protest of so-called 'pension reforms' by the Con-Dem government to public pensions. The following features audio recordings of picketers discussing their reasons for participating in the national day of action as well as some rambles and observations of the days actions from my perspective.

UPDATE on Hackney 41 arrests

POLICE are now saying 41 people have been arrested for suspicion of breach of the peace outside CLR James library in Dalston, Hackney, yesterday of which two remain in custody with the rest bailed (see earlier post for background)

Solidarity Federation: Wage theft victory in South


A pub worker and South London Solidarity Federation have together won 6 weeks - over £700 - in stolen wages after a campaign of direct action and threatening pickets of a London pub.Laura was employed by ‘The Hartley' pub in South London. Most Universities and college will have pickets outside from early on next Wednesday - please support you local picket line. Not only is this a fight for our pensions - it is an all out attack on the existance of Unions by this CON-Dem government, with plans to remove the ability for unions to strike and unions to organise.
