As part of the national day of action against workfare and the IWA days of action, South London SolFed picketed the health food shop; Holland & Barrett along with 20 other locals in solidarity with a day of action around the country. This was a protest against workfare and the way the government is forcing people into work for no or little pay.

Ed Greens, 21 year old musical artist & poet from Camden Town, London performed at the Hackney Picture House on 29th March 2012. The show premiered the music video to ‘Screaming Revolution' by Empdy x Ed Greens. I caught up with Ed to ask a few questions, particularly, how he came to start making ‘active' music and why Palestine is a common thread in his music.

An occupation has sprung up next to the site of a planned Olympic 'temporary' basketball training facility on Leyton Marshes, Leyton.
It is there to show solidarity with the Campaign to Save Leyton Marsh.

The Occupy movement have joined Hackney and Waltham Forest residents in their struggle against the Olympic land grab.
Since planning permission was granted in January by Waltham Forest council for a large indoor basket ball arena for Olympic and paralympic athletes to practice on, local residents and marsh users have been organising and campaigning to save Leyton Marsh.

The Fire Station Social Centre near Lambeth Bridge will start running activities this week after a judge ruled the issuing of its IPO was illegal.
The judge threw out the London Fire Service’s Interim Possession Order (IPO) on Friday after it arose that papers for the 48-hour fasttrack eviction process were received FOUR days after it was squatted.

On 22 March, after 15 at the Polish Embassy in London was a solidarity picket with Squatters from Elba. Over a dozen people gathered together. Participants brought banners in solidarity with the Elba, black-and-red flags .. There was also handed a letter of protest, addressed to the ambassador. The demonstration drew the attention of pedestrians and police.

An abandoned public building being used as a social centre for the general public will be evicted in a few days at great expense to the taxpayer.
The building at 1 Whitgift Street is at the centre of a planning controversy after residents of the area signed a petition against it being converted into luxury flats on TWO separate occasions.
