Following the use of bluetooth by police forces around the country in awareness raising schemes, the Met Police intend to encourage protesters to activate bluetooth on their mobile phones at the TUC March for the Alternatives demonstration in London on March 26th. This will allow the MET police to broadcast messages direct to marchers mobile phones. For background see astracasting.com

the climate camp swoop successfully took over trafalgar square from around 4.30 this evening. here are a few pics from the early stages of the camp. the campers initially intend to remain there for 48 hours. at present, police have no immediate plans to remove them.

Last wednesday (3rd September), as the Camp for Climate Action finished up clearing the site of this years climate camp, a group of activists pitched a tent within the grounds of E-on owed Ratcliffe-on-Soar coal-fired power station in Nottinghamshire. The tent was emblazoned with the words “Climate Camp is coming” in reference to their plans to shut down the power station in October.
