In late April 2010, Middlesex University decided to close down

Philosophy, its highest research-rated subject; ever since, Middlesex

students and staff, and many thousands of their supporters in the UK

and around the world, have been battling to save it.

Massive vote for strike at Sussex (see main article, below).  Also, around about lunchtime, this report was received: "Sussex House, the building where management rule over campus, was occupied minutes ago. It looks like the police are going to try to evict the occupiers."

Over 200 staff and students at the University of Westminster have protested, stormed the board of governors meeting and are currently in occupation, vice-chancellors office, in regard to recently proposed tutoring and administrative job cuts.
